He also appeared in a renowned science fiction film titled Alien: Covenant by Ridley Scott and a biographical legal film ‘Marshal.’ Besides acting, Jussie also directed a movie ‘B-Boys Blues’ based upon a novel dating back to 1994 written by James Earl; the movie was released in the year 2012.

Jussie Smollett was born to Janet and Joe’ in Santa Rosa, California. He has 5 siblings: 2 sisters( Jazz and Jurnee) and 3 brothers (Jojo, Joqui, and Jake) Smollet’s mother is African American while his father is a Jew, so he is multiracial.
He said that his father would “kill you if you called him white.” His father remained out of touch from his life in childhood for a major portion. When 2 years old, his family relocated to New York City, and when he was 7 years old, they moved to Los Angeles.
Though enrolled in different schools, Smollett gained most of his formal education in New Jersey Catholic Paramus High School and graduated from the same school. He made an important yet difficult confrontation with his parents in the 19th year of his age that he is gay.

Jussie Smollet’s acting career began in 1991 with his debut appearance in a family drama,’ A little piece of Heaven. He also played supporting roles in films ‘The Mighty Duck’ and ‘North.’ Jussie later featured himself along with 2 of his siblings in the American BroadCasting sitcom “On Our Own.” The show broadcasted its 20 episodes on TV from 1994 to 1995.
The artist played his part as a voiceover artist in the animated series ‘Cro’ for 20 episodes which appeared on screen from 1993 to 1994. In 2012, he acted in the LGBT-based drama ‘The Skinny.’ He also played the character of gay musician “Jamal Lyon” in a 2014 musical drama “Empire” based upon the R&B music business broadcasted by FOX network.
