Melissa Fumero is an American director and actress. She was born on August 19, 1982, in North Bergen, New Jersey. At 19, Fumero moved to New York City, and in 2003, she received a degree of Fine Arts in Drama from NYU. Fumero got the role of Adriana on her last day as a student at NYU.
She joined the series One Life to Live, the second actress to portray Adriana, on January 20, 2004. Fumero appeared as a guest star on OLTL to help usher in the return of Kelly Cramer. In 2009, she made her big-screen debut as the lead in the independent film Tiny Dancer.
The following year, Fumero joined the cast of The CW’s Gossip Girl as Zoe, one of Blair Waldorf’s minions in five episodes. Fumero was cast in Fox/NBC’s Brooklyn Nine-Nine as Amy Santiago, the female lead opposite Andy Samberg. In 2019, she made her directorial debut when she directed the season six episode of Brooklyn Nine-Nine “Return of the King.”
