Brooke Baldwin is an American author, journalist, and television host. She was born on July 12, 1979, in Atlanta, Georgia. She graduated in journalism from Hussman School of Journalism and Media and studied abroad at the Universidad Iberoamericana. In 2001, Baldwin started her career at WVIR-TV in Charlottesville, Virginia. Later, she became the morning anchor of the same channel in the Huntington and Charleston, West Virginia area. She joined WTTG as a lead reporter for a 10 pm newscast in Washington, D.C. In July 2011, she covered the final launch of Space Shuttle Atlantis (STS-135) from Kennedy Space Center. Her documentary To Catch a Serial Killer received a Silver World Medal and was nominated for an Emmy to cover protests of Eric Garner’s chokehold death. In January 2014, she also covered President Obama’s second inauguration from Washington, D.C. On February 16, 2021, she announced that she would leave CNN in mid-April and hosted her final show on April 16. In April 2021, she authored her first book, Huddle: How Women Unlock Their Collective Power.
