You mindless Nationalistic Chinese idiots!
Please be sure to follow every order of the Great Leader!

Did you ever notice that the French have something very superior to the Chinese System!
They get to vote and they have freedom of Speech! Just see how long you last if you go to Tianamen Square and shout "Down with the Communist Party"

OK guys, let's get tough on the French boycott bit. I am calling for support for a 'Body Odour' week.
Let's all refuse to buy French perfume. We may end up ponging a bit, but there's nothing like going 'au naturel' - darn it, I spoke a bit of French there!!

As if life wasn't hard enough for French businesses big and small in China. Look at Danone getting shafted by Wahaha, and the genuine French Creperie opened by two French guys in Lijiang (taken over by the local partner when it started doing well). Les laowai - Ils ne passerong pas!

But out of sheer bloodymindedness I am sorely tempted to go on May 1, just because it will be hen fangbian, no customers.

I hope so, but I guess everyone else will have the same idea. My guess is that it will be even more crowded than ever.

This boycott of French goods, particularly Carrefour, exposes the Chinese mindset on two major ethical issues. Carrefour is a foreign company (nothing wrong with that) that transports a significant amount of stock around the planet thus emitting vast amounts of Co2 into the atmosphere. Secondly, most of its profits in China no doubt leave the country and benefit shareholders and a board of directors in Paris. Surely anyone with an ounce of conscience would keep away from this group and get their groceries from the local Chinese market. No. These things aren't important. The fact that China is likely to be one of the first uninhabitable countries when climate change takes its toll is a minor detail. The motherland can become a dustbowl as long as it isn't split.

I haven't been to Carrefour for over a year for the reasons above. But out of sheer bloodymindedness I am sorely tempted to go on May 1, just because it will be hen fangbian, no customers. I might see if I can get arrested for assaulting someone with a baguette. Thankfully my Chinese girlfriend isn't boycotting French kissing.
